About the event
This is a great class for anyone who wants to learn about the most common, local wild foods, medicinal plants, and edible flowers. Each class lasts about 2-3 hours and is suitable for novice and veteran foragers alike. We want to inspire and inform you to engage and eat from your local landscapes in an ethical and conscious way. We can tend each plant within the ecosystem to optimize biodiversity.
We will be covering plant identification strategies, plant family characteristics, legal-ethical harvesting, processing, and preparation methods, edible and medicinal uses, plant toxicity, habitat and distribution, plant conservation and at-risk status. You will take your plant awareness and appreciation to a whole new level.
